Loc-Line NPT Connectors & Valves
Loc-Line NPT Connectors & Valves are the threaded fittings that start a Loc-Line run. Thread the male NPT end into a return pump outlet, bulkhead, or manifold, then snap your hose segments straight onto the ball end. The connector versions are simple starters, while the valve versions add quarter turn flow control right at the source. Finish the run with our Loc-Line 3/4" Nozzles.
Why Start With NPT
Most pumps, bulkheads, and plumbing manifolds end in a threaded port, and NPT is the standard pipe thread in the hobby. One of these fittings is the bridge between that hard plumbing and the flexible, re-aimable Loc-Line side of your return. Like every Loc-Line part, they are molded in the USA from saltwater resistant acetal copolymer, so they hold up in sumps and reef returns for years.
Choose Your Fitting
| Fitting | SKU | What It Does |
|---|---|---|
| 1/2" Connector | LOC59863 | Male NPT thread to ball end for the 1/2" Loc-Line system |
| 3/4" Connector | LOC69545 | Male NPT thread to ball end for the 3/4" Loc-Line system |
| 1/2" Valve | LOC69852 | Male NPT thread plus a quarter turn valve, controls the whole 1/2" run at its source |
| 3/4" Valve | LOC69556 | Male NPT thread plus a quarter turn valve for the 3/4" system |
How to Install
- Wrap the male threads with a few turns of PTFE thread tape, then hand tighten into the pump outlet, bulkhead, or manifold port.
- Snap your Loc-Line segments onto the ball end. The Loc-Line Assembly Pliers make the joints much easier to seat and separate.
- Pick the valve version anywhere you may want to kill or throttle the line later: feeding mode, skimmer tuning, or isolating a branch for maintenance.
- Match the fitting to your hose size. The 1/2" and 3/4" systems do not interchange without an adapter.

Frequently Asked Questions
Connector or valve? If you just need to get from threads to Loc-Line, the connector does it for less. Pick the valve when you want to throttle or shut off that entire line without touching the pump, which is worth it on most displays for feeding time alone.
What thread size is it? The thread matches the system size: the 1/2" fittings carry 1/2" male NPT and the 3/4" fittings carry 3/4" male NPT. Check your pump or bulkhead port before ordering, and use a threaded adapter if they differ.
Do I need thread sealant? A few wraps of PTFE tape on the threads is plenty for aquarium pressures. Skip pipe dope, which can be a problem around livestock.
Is this the same as the in-line valve? No. The in-line valve has ball-and-socket ends and splices into the middle of a run. These NPT fittings thread into hard plumbing to start the run.
