N-Clear Nano Automatic Fleece Roller Filter
The N-Clear Nano from Nature Dimensions is an automatic fleece roller filter built for the rear chambers of nano all-in-one aquariums, rated for tanks from 10 to 50 gallons (38 to 190 L). As waste and uneaten food collect on the fleece, an optical sensor detects the rising water level and advances a fresh section automatically, so mechanical waste leaves the system instead of sitting in a sock until your next water change. Browse the rest of our filter media and cartridges.
How It Works
Water entering the chamber passes down through a sheet of high density fleece. As particles load the fleece and restrict flow, the water level above it rises until the optical sensor triggers the take up motor, which winds the clogged section onto the take up spool and feeds clean fleece into its place. Trapped organics are physically removed from the water column rather than left to break down, which is the main practical difference between a roller and a filter sock or pad.

Detailed Specifications

Main Unit · 300 GPH · Complete and ready to run
The complete filter. This is the one to buy first, and the only one you need for a single chamber tank. It arrives with the controller, optical sensor, power adapter and a starter fleece roll, so it runs on its own out of the box.

Extension Unit · Second filter for dual chamber tanks
A second filter body that runs from the Main Unit's controller. It ships with a splitter cable and a starter fleece roll, but no controller, sensor or power adapter, so it cannot run by itself. Both motors advance together whenever the main unit's sensor triggers. Nature Dimensions recommends a dual filter setup for aquariums with two filter chambers, particularly systems above 25 gal (95 L).

Value Kit · 600 GPH · Both units, one purchase
A Main Unit and an Extension Unit together, which is the complete dual chamber setup. One controller drives both filter bodies in sync through the included splitter cable, and both motors advance together when the sensor triggers. At $249.99 it saves $29.99 against buying the two separately. This is the configuration Nature Dimensions recommends for aquariums with two filter chambers, particularly systems above 25 gal (95 L).

Will It Fit My Tank?
No adapter needed: Innovative Marine 10, 14, 15, 20 and 25.
Fits with an N-Fit Nano adapter: selected Waterbox, UNS Dual AIO, Landen, Aquatop, Aqua One, AquaManta, HelloReef, ReefCasa, IceCap, Maxspect, Fiji Cube, JBJ, Tideline, Blue Marine, YiDing and Mantis models. Adapters are sold separately, see our N-Fit Nano Adapters for the model by model fitting list. A dual setup needs two adapters.
Not a current Nano fit: Waterbox 50 Peninsula, Fluval AIO, BioCube, Red Sea Max Nano, Lifegard AIO, ReefCasa Pico and Tide, JBJ 10, and Tideline 7, 11 and 13.
Fit depends on the exact model and chamber layout. If your tank is not listed or has been modified, check your chamber opening and clearance before ordering.
FAQ
How long does one fleece roll last?
Nature Dimensions rates a roll at roughly 3 to 6 weeks. Tank size, bioload, flow rate and how high you set the sensor all move that number.
What is the difference between the Main Unit and the Extension Unit?
The Main Unit is the complete filter and includes the controller, optical sensor and power adapter. The Extension Unit is a second filter body only. It uses the Main Unit's controller and comes with a splitter cable, so it cannot run on its own.
Should I buy the Value Kit?
Buy it if your tank has two filter chambers, or if you are running a heavier bioload and want the full 600 GPH. It is a Main plus an Extension for $249.99, which is $29.99 less than the two bought separately. For a single chamber tank, the Main Unit on its own is all you need.
Can I add an Extension later instead?
Yes. Nothing about the Main Unit changes, so you can start with one filter and add an Extension whenever you want the second chamber running.
Do I need an adapter?
Only if your tank is not an Innovative Marine 10 through 25. Most other supported AIO tanks need the matching N-Fit Nano adapter, which is sold separately. A dual setup needs one adapter per filter body.
Can I use it on a reef tank?
Yes. The N-Clear Nano is built for both freshwater and saltwater use.
Does it come with a power adapter for outside the US?
No. Units ship with a US power adapter rated AC 100 to 240V input and DC 12V 2A output, using a 5.5 x 2.1 mm (5521) barrel connector.
