Seachem Vibrant Sea is a highly concentrated synthetic sea salt for marine and reef aquariums. It supplies all of the essential major, minor and trace components found in natural seawater, plus an enhanced potassium level, and mixes to accurate seawater concentrations of calcium, magnesium and strontium with proper alkalinity and pH. How to Mix

1. Start with purified RO/DI water, or tap water treated with a dechlorinator such as Seachem Prime to neutralize chlorine and chloramine.
2. Add Vibrant Sea at 27 g per liter for a specific gravity of 1.020, or 31 g per liter for 1.023. For larger batches, use 1/2 cup per 1.58 US gallons (6 L) for 1.020, or 1/2 cup per 1.38 US gallons (5.25 L) for 1.023.
3. Stir until completely dissolved. The saltwater is then ready to use. Excessive mixing can cause cloudiness, which clears once the water is added to the aquarium.
4. Check specific gravity with a saltwater refractometer. Seachem recommends 1.020-1.025 at 75°F (24°C) for reef aquariums. Add more salt if it reads low, or more water if it reads high.
5. Change about 20% of the aquarium water every two weeks, or as needed, to keep water quality high.

Never mix salt in an aquarium that contains livestock. In a new aquarium, add animals only after the salt is completely mixed and aerated and the specific gravity is set. Seachem suggests Seachem Stability to help a new system through its startup cycle.

FAQ

How much saltwater does one box make?
Up to 830 liters (220 US gallons) at Seachem's 1.020 mix rate of 27 g per liter. Mixed to 1.023 at 31 g per liter, one box makes about 740 liters (196 US gallons). Mixing to a higher reef salinity uses a little more salt per gallon.

Is Vibrant Sea a good choice for reef tanks?
