Product description

Vitalis Plec Pellets 8mm are the daily staple for plecos and other rasping fish. A blend of algae and vegetable matter with a little fish protein is pressed into a soft 8mm pellet that sinks and holds together, so a bristlenose can graze it down over an hour the way it would work a patch of algae on driftwood. Add Vitalis Tropical Grazing Pellets for a longer lasting overnight feed, and browse all freshwater dry foods.

Plecos do not live on tank algae. A bristlenose in a clean tank will slowly starve without a daily sinking food. Feed it every day, after lights out if your other fish steal from it.

Features

  • 8mm soft pellet, easy for a pleco to rasp but too big for tetras to steal
  • Algae rich formula with about 40% protein for growth
  • Sinks and stays intact, so nocturnal fish find it after lights out
  • Stable in water up to 24 hours with minimal leaching
  • 160g resealable pot, made in the UK by World Feeds

Who it is for

Bristlenose and other ancistrus, common and rubber lip plecos, whiptails and farlowella, panaque and clown plecos, hillstream loaches, garra, Siamese algae eaters and otocinclus.

Feeding Guide

One pellet per pleco after lights out, or in the day if the fish is bold. Add a second pellet for a large pleco or a busy cleanup crew. Remove what is left after eight hours or so. Wood eating plecos such as panaque still need driftwood in the tank.

FAQ

My pleco ignores it. Feed after lights out and leave it. Most plecos eat at night and will not touch food while the lights are on.

How is it different from the Grazing Pellets? This is the daily pellet. The Grazing Pellet is larger and slower, meant to be worked at over hours.

Will it feed my snails and shrimp? Yes, they will finish what the pleco leaves.
