Eshopps Reef Sump 5th Gen
The Eshopps Reef Sump, 5th Generation is a clean, modern sump for reef tanks from 10 to 180 gallons. A white body with blue trim, a rectangular filter sock at the intake, an open skimmer chamber with an adjustable water level plate, a built-in refugium section and a return chamber, plus a probe holder and dosing line holders in the top bracing. How It Works
Drain water from your overflow enters the intake chamber and passes through the rectangular filter sock, which catches detritus and uneaten food before it reaches your equipment. It flows into the skimmer chamber, where the adjustable water level plate holds the depth your protein skimmer wants no matter how much water sits in the return section. From there it passes through the refugium section, a spot for macroalgae, rock rubble or media, and into the return chamber where your pump sends it back to the display. Bracing across the top keeps the panels rigid and carries the probe holder and dosing line holders.

RS-75 · 10 to 75 gal · 14 gal sump
The compact Reef Sump for nano and mid-size reefs up to 75 gallons. At 18 in long and 14 in tall it fits the stands that come with 20 to 40 gallon tanks, with a single drain intake, a 5 gallon refugium section and a 7.5 x 7.5 in skimmer chamber sized for nano in-sump skimmers.

The 24 in Reef Sump for 40 to 90 gallon tanks and 4 foot stands. Dual drain intakes, 20 gallons of volume and a 7 x 13.5 in skimmer chamber that takes most compact in-sump skimmers. The 4 x 13.5 in return section suits a slim DC return pump.

Which Model Is Right for You?
RS-75 for 10 to 75 gallon tanks and small stands. Single intake, 14 gallons, nano skimmer chamber.
RS-100 for 40 to 90 gallon tanks on a 4 foot stand. Dual intakes, 20 gallons, 7 x 13.5 in skimmer chamber.
RS-200 for 55 to 120 gallon systems. Dual intakes, 25 gallons, four dosing holders and a wider return chamber.
RS-300 for 90 to 180 gallon displays on a 6 foot stand. Dual intakes, 35 gallons and a 10 gallon refugium.
Measure the inside of the cabinet door and floor first, then check your skimmer footprint against the skimmer chamber and your return pump against the return chamber. The skimmer chamber is 7 in front to back on the RS-100, RS-200 and RS-300, so pick a skimmer whose base fits inside that.
Setup Tips
Rinse the sump and sock, set it on a level surface and plumb the drain lines into the intake. Slide the water level plate to the depth your skimmer calls for before you fill. Run the return pump with the display full and mark the return chamber level, then top off to that line during evaporation. Change the sock every few days, keep a chaeto ball and a light in the refugium section, and use the dosing holders to keep supplement lines from sliding into the pump.

FAQ
Is this the new 5th Generation?
Yes. The white body with blue trim, the adjustable water level plate, the built-in probe and dosing holders and the 14 in height are all 5th Gen. The clear 4th Gen Reef Sump has been discontinued.
Does it come with a pump or skimmer?
No. The sump ships with one rectangular filter sock. Add a return pump and an in-sump skimmer to complete it.
What filter sock does it use?
An Eshopps rectangular sock. One is included, and replacements are an Eshopps item rather than a standard 4 in round sock.
Do I have to use the refugium section?
No. Leave it empty, fill it with rubble or media, or grow chaeto in it. It is a section of the sump, not a separate unit.
Will it work on a freshwater tank?
Yes. Any sump-based system works, and the refugium section can hold plants or extra biological media.
Why pickup only?
A sump this size is heavy and fragile, so we hold it for in-store pickup instead of shipping it.
