ZooMed Gourmet Aquatic Turtle Food
Zoo Med Gourmet Aquatic Turtle Food is a pellet medley for aquatic turtles blended with whole sun dried river shrimp, dried mealworms, and real cranberries. Built on Zoo Med's proven turtle pellet with 37.5% protein, it fuels growing turtles in the 2 to 6 inch shell range while the mix-ins turn every meal into a treat.
Pair it with a staple like Zoo Med Natural Aquatic Turtle Food, and give your turtle a place to dry off and bask with the Zoo Med Turtle Dock.
Why Gourmet
Whole dried shrimp and mealworms add the high protein prey items growing turtles crave, and cranberries are a natural food of many North American aquatic turtles, including sliders, painted turtles, and map turtles. The pellet base is scientifically formulated with added vitamins and minerals, and contains no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.
How to Feed
- Feed every other day, about four times per week.
- Offer about one level teaspoon per turtle, adjusted for size and appetite.
- Give turtles up to an hour to finish, then remove anything uneaten to protect water quality.
- For hatchlings under 2 inches, start with a hatchling formula. Adults over 7 inches do better on a lower protein maintenance formula with this as an occasional treat.

FAQ
Can this be the only food I feed?
It is formulated for growing turtles 2 to 6 inches, and it works well as the main diet at that stage. Many keepers still rotate in a staple pellet and the occasional leafy green for variety.
Do the pellets float?
Yes. Aquatic turtles feed at the surface, and floating pellets keep everything visible so leftovers are easy to remove.
Is it OK for hatchlings?
Wait until your turtle reaches about 2 inches of shell length. Below that, a hatchling formula has the sizing and nutrition they need.
Which jar should I get?
The 6 oz jar suits a single young turtle. The 11 oz jar is the better buy for larger turtles or more than one.
