Loc-Line 6-Segment Sections
Loc-Line 6-Segment Sections are the modular hose itself: six ball-and-socket segments snapped into a ready-to-use strip. Use them to build a brand new return, extend an existing run, or replace a section that has finally given up after years of salt creep. Available for both the 1/2" and 3/4" Loc-Line systems, and they snap straight onto our 1/2" and 3/4" nozzles.
Why Loc-Line
Loc-Line is the original modular hose system, made in the USA by Lockwood Products since 1983. The segments are molded from premium acetal copolymer that shrugs off salt water, snap together by hand or with the assembly pliers, and hold whatever position you bend them into, no spring-back, no drooping under flow. That is why it has been the standard return-line fitting in the reef hobby for decades.
Choose Your Size
| Section | SKU | Approx. Length | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1/2" x 6 Segments | LOC59860 | About 5 1/2" | Nano and AIO returns, the most common hobby size |
| 3/4" x 6 Segments | LOC69540 | About 6" | Larger reef returns and manifolds that need more flow |
How to Use
- Snap sections together end to end for longer runs; each joint seals with a firm push. The Loc-Line Assembly Pliers make assembly and breakdown far easier.
- Start the run with an NPT connector at the pump or bulkhead, then finish with the nozzle that fits your flow plan.
- Add an in-line valve or check valve anywhere along the section.
- The two sizes do not snap together directly, so match the section to your existing system.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many sections do I need? Measure from your bulkhead or pump outlet to where you want the nozzle to sit, then round up. Extra segments pop off in seconds and never go to waste in a reefer's parts drawer.
Which size is my tank? Most AIO and nano returns are 1/2", while larger sumped reefs often run 3/4". If your current nozzle opening measures about half an inch across, it is the 1/2" system.
Can I mix 1/2" and 3/4" parts? Not directly, the ball sizes differ. Loc-Line does make adapters, but the cleanest builds stick to one size per run.
Do the joints loosen over time? They hold up remarkably well. If a years-old joint ever gets floppy from wear, replacing one section restores the stiffness.
